Ctenanthe burle-marxii 'Amagris' has pale green, oval leaves with dramatic dark green curving stripes and deep purple undersides, atop soft hairy, purple tinged green stems.
The Marantaceae family is commonly known as “prayer plants” due to their circadian rhythmic nastic movement known as nyctinasty in which they move their leaves based on an internal circadian clock! This family contains genera such as Calathea, Maranta, Stromanthe & Ctenanthe.
Do Not place in full sun or high light. In the wild Marantaceae are tropical forest floor plants. This means they grow best in bright shade to low light conditions.
Do Not over fertilize as Marantaceae are sensitive to excessive nutrients.
Make sure to provide moderate to high levels of humidity and keep moist but not wet.
