Hoyas are mostly epiphytic creeping, twining or vining plants that have a vast array of different leaf shapes, sizes, textures & colors! The Pubicalyx is unusual in that all the new growth is a deep burgundy color which eventually turns dark green with light colored blotches as it ages. If provided with the desired conditions, this hoya will bloom usually at night, with dark pink flowers which have been described as smelling sweet like mocha or milk chocolate.
Hoya are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
Do Not remove the flower stalks after your Pubicalyx has finished flowering. Hoya are able to rebloom again & again from the same peduncle!

Hoya Pubicalyx Splash
Hoyas are epiphytic vines, meaning that they grow on the branches of trees in nature. The roots of epiphytes prefer bright indirect light. Brighter light will result in better color of the foliage but avoid direct sun which may burn the foliage.
The leaves of Hoya are waxy and succulent, and it will tolerate minimum levels of watering. We recommend allowing the soil to nearly completely dry out between waterings. The number one sign of underwatering is drooping, wilted leaves. You can tell if you are overwatering by the leaves yellowing and falling off. Overwatering may eventually lead to root rot.
